If they are first-time helpers, they should attend the Settling-In Program (SIP).The Ministry of Manpower (MOM) will notify employers if their assistance is required to attend the SIP in the Work Permit in-principle approval (IPA) letter. Employers can only bring in helpers into Singapore after receiving an IPA letter and paying a $5,000 security bond. (This is not applicable to Malaysian employees.)
